Mehandi
, the art of applying henna, has been an age-old tradition and is enormously popular in many countries like India, Pakistan, South Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Henna, when applied on the body, generally on the hands, feet and hair, leaves a reddish brown stain that lasts for a week, at least. Mehandi derived from the Sanskrit word mendhikā. Things to Remember: Nowadays the henna cone contains some chemicals. So if you are allergic or your skin is sensitive, then check a little amount of henna on your palm before making the whole design. If it gives you itchy or burning feeling, do not use it. Also, if you have done waxing on an area where you are going to apply henna, do not do it as skin pores will be opened after waxing and commercial henna contains some chemical. Use it after a day or two to avoid damage or irritation on your skin.
